According to the V.I. Police Department:

– At about 6:20 p.m. the 911 call center dispatched the Traffic Division to a report of an auto accident on the Melvin H. Evans Highway in the vicinity of Hope Road by the Hovensa Training Center.

The police report said an 88-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was driving east on Melvin Evans Highway and made a right turn to enter onto Hope Road. She impacted a vehicle carrying five people, including the driver.

All five passengers suffered injuries and were treated at the Juan F. Luis Hospital. The 88-year–old female driver was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel and was transported to the morgue by the morgue attendant.

– At 8:02 p.m. Sunday, Traffic Division was dispatched to the Northside Road, in the vicinity of the “In and Out Service Station” in Estate Glynn.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a male driver, name and age not disclosed by police, was traveling south on the Northside Road.
