Egbert V. Thomas Jr. Dies at 79

Egbert V. Thomas Jr. Veteran Egbert V. Thomas Jr., also known as "Junie," "Thomo" or "Thomas," of Estate Anna’s Hope died on Sunday, March 22. He was 79 years old.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florine A. Williams-Thomas.
He is survived by his daughters: Margaret A., Janice A., Rena M. and Tricia R. Thomas; sons: Gary V. J. Thomas and Egbert V. Thomas III; sisters: Elaine Forbes, Daphne Andrews, Dorothea Vivican and Myrtle Daniel; brother, Roy Thomas; grandchildren: Tywon Thomas and Rashida Wynn, Gary Shawn, Jamall, Giselle, Kareem, Michael, Daniel and Christina Thomas, Alicia Thomas-Madir, Janiesa Pompey, Tré and Tori Thomas, Reneah Guzman, Alejandro Guzman Jr., and Jahkiyl, Asaesha and Nelaesha John; great-grandchildren: Devonté Matthew, Dea’Najah and Deanari Petersen, Na’Shaniyah, J’Zacai and J’Zai Thomas, Jahreem and Jeremiah Thomas, Y’mani Thomas, Jaylin Khalil, Layla Santos, Jasmine Madir and Kaedyn Thomas; and nieces: Frances Caines, Jacqueline Williams, Clarissa Lockhart, Aurelia Ross-Estrill, Elaine Springer, Rita Johnson, Verna Forbes-Dowling, Evelle Forbes, Sheryl Andrews-Brown, Nadine Andrews, Valerie Francis, Kristine Vivican and Deidre Daniel.
He is also survived by nephews: Floyd Hendersen, Patrick James, Howard Forbes, Almeric Thomas, Alphonso Andrews Jr., Akil-Talib Andrews, Rodney Thomas and Damian Daniel; daughter-in-law, Maline Duparl-Thomas; sisters-in-law; Genevieve Thomas, Raphalia Williams-Watson and Leila Williams-Carty; and relatives: Victorina Hansen, Maria Pinder, the Jacobs family, the Burke family, the Emanuel family, the Williams family, the Romney family, the Phipps family, the Rivera family, the McAlpin family, Kiture Burke, Catherine Braham, the Hector family, the Henry family, the Joseph family, the O’Reilly family, the Johnson family, the Russell family, the Smith family, Brenda Myers and family, Audrey Farrell and family, Camille Larsen and family, the Krigger family, Harold Johnson, Ivy Barry-Boyce, the Byron family, Jerry James and family, the Rhymer family, Lydia Thomas and family, the Evans family, the Horseford family, the Bailey family, the Petersen family, the Francis family, Alice Richardson and family.

A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 17, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will be at Christiansted Cemetery.
