Police on St. Croix are investigating an incident Monday in which a man was assaulted by two suspects who took his money and wallet, according to the V.I. Police Department.
Police said witnesses reported a fight at the Payers Club at about 2:30 a.m. Monday. Customers who ran out the back door to evade the fight told police they saw two men beat up another man. At least one of the suspects brandished a weapon and threatened to kill the victim, according to witnesses.
The suspect also pointed the gun at onlookers, police were told.
The suspects took the victim’s wallet and his car keys and fled the area.
The police statement did not say whether the victim was injured or taken for medical treatment.
The case is being followed up by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
