November Activities for Military Family Month Are Scheduled

“November is Military Family Month” The Office of Veterans Affairs along with VCOS (Veterans Connect Outreach Services) has announced the activities for the month of November. This group is made up agencies that deliver services to veterans and their families in the Virgin Islands. Agencies such as the Department of Labor veteran representative, Housing Finance Authority, Survivors Outreach Services, UVI-CELL, COAST, American Legion, Veterans Affairs and other agencies make up the VCOS partnership. • UVI-CELL Veterans Month Celebration Initiative: Free classes for
veterans and discounted rate for valid family members Nov 1-30
• At 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov 2, American Legion Post 90 Charter Day Program will be held at the Legion Hall Sub Base, St. Thomas
• At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov 4, Post 90 visits St. Peter and Paul Church, St. Thomas
• Monday, Nov 5: VING Family Night Out Game Night at the SFC LBF Armory
St. Thomas • At 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov 9: Veteran Show Case at Patrick U. George Legion Hall, St. Thomas
• At 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, a Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on St. Thomas
• Sunday, Nov 11, an After Parade Reception with Post 90 Legion Band featuring Louis Taylor
• At. 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov 12, Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony St. John
• Monday and Tuesday on Nov 12-13, benefits counselors visit Vet Center on St. Thomas
• Nov. 11-17, American Education Week (Veteran’s Community Interaction)
• Tuesday, Nov. 27: VING Family Night Out Basketball at UVI
• Friday, Nov. 30: Family Programs OPN Ready, St. Thomas (RLS Hospital)

• At 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12: Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony, St. Croix
• Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15-16: Benefits counselors visit Vet Center on St. Croix
• At 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15: Survivors of the Fallen Remembrance Tree
