Randey Orlando Gumbs was arrested Thursday and charged with the June 3 stabbing death of Kishaun Stevens and injuries to another victim at the Hush Night Club, the V.I. Police Department reported.
Detective from the department’s Major Crime unit arrested the 36-year-old Gumbs based on an arrest warrant issued by the Virgin Islands Superior Court. Gumbs was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault, attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and eight counts of possession of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence.
According to the police, shortly after 3 a.m. June 3, officers were notified about a stabbing that occurred at Hush Night Club. Investigation revealed that two victims were injured at the club and taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center. One victim, 18-year-old Kishaun Stevens, died at the hospital. Another victim, 24 years old, had been stabbed in the right side of his back and was treated by medical staff.
Gumbs was placed on a $300,000 bail and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
