Meeting Called to Discuss Garbage Collection in Smith Bay

Nov. 15, 2005 – The VI Waste Management Authority will hold a meeting Tuesday night to discuss house-to-house garbage collection in Smith Bay and the closing of the trash collection site on Smith Bay Road.
The Smith Bay bin site is due to close shortly and the authority has already begun house-to-house collection, according to a release from the authority.
Under the new plan, residents will need to place solid waste in plastic bags inside a 30-gallon or larger container with a secure top along the roadside adjacent to their houses on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The meeting to discuss the new procedures will be held at 6 p.m. at the Apostolic Faith Mission Church in Smith Bay. For more information call 773-1290 or 776-7971.
