The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for St. Croix effective through 1:45 a.m. Monday.
According to the NWS’s San Juan office, Doppler radar indicates the rain that began falling Sunday night will cause minor flooding on the island.
The V.I. Territorial Emergency Management Agency urged people to exercise caution, particularly when driving, noting that most flood fatalities occur when driving. “Turn around, don`t drown,” when encountering flooded roads, the agency said.
“Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding,” they added.
