St. Croix Golf Association to Host Eastern Caribbean Championships

For the first time in over a decade, the St. Croix Golf Association (ECGA) will host eight countries for the Eastern Caribbean Golf Association Championships at Carambola Golf Club. Golf teams from Anguilla, Antigua, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Montserrat, St. Croix, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten and St. Thomas will compete from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 for individual and team titles.
Activities will include an opening ceremony attend by sponsors, players, their friends and families at 5:30 p.m., Friday at Carambola Golf Club.
The competition will take place Saturday and Sunday beginning at 7 a.m. Spectators are welcome for both days of play. Team and individual awards will be presented at a banquet and closing ceremony on Sunday evening.
Last year, the team from St. Kitts won the tournament at Mullet Bay Golf Course, St. Maarten, with a Combined Team Gross Score of 1,281. Martinique came in second and St. Maarten took the award for Combined Team Low Net Score. The St. Thomas Super Seniors team took home honors for the low gross in that category.
Next year, the ECGA tournament will be held at the Cuisinart Resort Golf Club, Anguilla.
