Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett released the following statement regarding the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) awarding Frederiksted Health Care Inc. on St. Croix a $441,625.00 grant for the development of comprehensive, high-impact HIV prevention programs.

“I want to thank the CDC for this infusion of $441,625.00 to Frederiksted Health Care Inc. Community-based organizations like Frederiksted Health Care play a crucial role not just in providing non-discriminatory and accessible healthcare in our community but also in supporting public health awareness and information in our territory. This funding will help FHC with the implementation of comprehensive HIV-prevention programs to reduce morbidity, mortality and related health disparities in accordance with the Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative.

“It is my hope that this funding will help the Frederiksted Health Center address the HIV concerns we have in our territory by helping to reduce new infections, increase access to care and promote health equity.”
