St. Croix Woman Arrested on Warrant for Cyber Harassment

Sharon Lopez, a 35-year-old resident of of the Louis E. Brown Villas on St. Croix, was arrested Friday and charged with cyber harassment and other charges.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at 4:43 p.m. Dec. 4 detectives of the Economic Crimes Unit arrested Lopez on a warrant, charging her with harassment by telephone, telegraph, or written communication and cyberstalking and cyber harassment.

Lopez is accused of creating more than 200 telephone numbers through an online text message application to threaten and harass several people, including minors.

Bail for Lopez was set at $10,000. Unable to post bail, she was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing.
