VA Plans Virgin Islands Veterans Appreciation Day Events

The Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs (VA) invites the territory’s veterans to an afternoon of fun in their respective districts as a part of its 2nd annual Virgin Islands Veterans Appreciation Day.

Friday Nov. 1 in the St. Thomas-St. John District
The VA invites all veterans aboard the Kon Tiki Party Raft. Loading will start be from 12:30-1 p.m. for departure from the northern end of the WICO dock. Participants are allowed to park in the parking lot directly behind the Port of Sale Mall in Havensight. The following will be provided free of charge: entrance aboard the Kon Tiki, food, T-shirts for veterans and entertainment by The Top Notch Band. Bring towels, sunscreen, swimsuits and cameras.

Friday Nov. 8 in the St. Croix District
The VA invites all veterans to join them at the Tropical Ten Pins Bowling Alley in Castle Coakley for an afternoon of bowling. Bowling lanes are free from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In addition to the bowling lanes, the following will be provided free of charge: food, T-shirts for veterans, bowling shoes and entertainment by DJ Porter.

Note: Veterans will be authorized to bring one companion to either event only if there is space available after the RSVP date of Friday Oct. 25. All interested veterans must bring a VA ID (federal or local) or a copy of their DD 214 to the V.I. Office of Veterans Affairs to be granted entrance to either event. No exceptions.
