Police Seek Information in Thursday Morning Homicide

A man identitied by police as 23-year old Quinland Chetram was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound in the area of Subbase.

It was the ninth homicide on St. Thomas since the beginning of the year, the 20th in the territory.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at 1:24 a.m. Thursday patrol officers came upon an unresponsive black male in the Subbase area.

The man, later identified as Chetram, appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound to the body. Emergency medical technicians concluded that he did not have any vital signs.

Police urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 ext., 5569 or 340-714-9830 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477. They also can contact 911 or the chief’s office at 340-715-5548.
