Henrica Victor-Joseph Dies at 69

With shattered hearts, we sadly announce the death of our beloved Henrica Victor-Joseph, originally of St. Lucia, who resided on St. Croix, U.S.V.I. She passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the age of 69 years, at Mountainside Hospital in New Jersey.

Left to mourn are her nine children: Giles Roy Victor on St. Croix, Mark Victor on St. Croix, Lidia Victor-President in Florida, Perrine Victor-Alfred in New Jersey, Petrus Victor in New York, Louise Victor in New Jersey, Cyrina Victor in Georgia, Nakisha Joseph in Maryland and Sherman Joseph in North Carolina; and grandchildren, including: Latifah President of Florida, Shanika President of Florida, Tamisha President of Florida, Zyah Alfred of New Jersey, Rayne Alfred of New Jersey, Mark Victor Jr. of St. Croix, Sean Victor of St. Croix, Lisa Victor of St. Croix, Junior Victor of Pennsylvania, Alisha Victor of New York, Malik Victor of Georgia, Ethan Victor of New York, Jermiah Victor of Maryland, Kemani Johnson of Georgia, Devonte Joseph of North Carolina, Morica Victor of New York, Janesha Victor of Delaware, Desaundra Victor of Georgia and Brianna Victor of Florida.

She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Toni Davis of Florida, Amaré Bailey of Texas, Alisa Victor and Joshua Victor of St. Croix; sisters: Daphney “Deedid” Victor of Lombard, Celline “Pepin” Sommor of Canada, Adriana Toyar Caul-Placide of Florida, Francisca Abby Doreney of Micoud, Annie James of St. Croix, Madaeline Oscar of St. Croix, Crecentia Oscar of St. Croix, Berthia Oscar of Micoud and Timothia Bicar of St Lucia; brothers: Cecil “Torte” Victor of Lombard, Peter “Pardin” Victor of Praslin, Justin Oscar of St. Lucia, Alfred “Paul” Oscars of St. Croix, Joseph “Nana” Oscar of St. Croix, Morell Philemon of St. Croix and Cyprian Oscar-Theodore of St. Croix; and aunts: Magdalene “Mable” Simeon of Florida, Martha Norlita Simeon of St. Lucia and Agnes Clefan Emile of the U.K.

Other survivors include sons-in-law: Andrew “Porgy” President of Florida, Steve Alfred of New Jersey, John Victor of St. Croix and Delroy Dublin of Georgia; daughters-in-law: Sharon Victor of St. Croix, Cathy Victor of New York and Denae Joseph of North Carolina; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: George Joseph of St. Croix, Noel Sommor of Canada, Leo Placide of Barre Denis, Joseph Doreney of Micoud, Eucilla Victor of Lombard, Maralene Philemon of St. Croix, Easter Theodore of St. Croix, Hamlet Gonzage of St. Lucia, Michelene Oscar of New York and Kate Oscar of St Croix; and close friends: Greg Peter of St. Croix, Rose Marie Pierre of Patience, Emilyn Gonzague of St. Croix and Pascalina Bernard of St. Croix.

The funeral service of our beloved Henrica Joseph will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Central Church of Nazarene on St. Croix. Viewing of the body will be at 10 a.m. followed immediately by the service at 11 a.m. The body will be laid to rest at the Kings Hill Cemetery, St. Croix.
