Mustangs Compete at Macon Bank and Trust Invitational in Tennessee

The St. Croix Track Club Mustangs

The St. Croix Track Club (STXTC) Mustangs are thankful for the valiant efforts of its athletes who competed in Lafayette, Tenn., on Aug. 18. STXTC athletes attended the Macon Bank and Trust Invitational in Tennessee, which was held overcast day on a rolling course of hills, valleys and small streams. They competed for Station Camp Middle School with two of them competing unattached. They athletes were: Opal Beck, Foster Beck, Linton Beck, Fletcher Beck and Michelle Smith.

— In the Boys 2-Mile Middle School Varsity Division there were 143 boys. Foster Beck and Linton Beck ran for Station Camp Middle School placing 24th in 13 min. 15 sec. and 87th in 14 min. 58 sec., respectively.

— In the Mix Gender 2-Mile Middle School Junior Varsity Division Fletcher Beck ran unattached and placed 30th among boys in 15 min. 56 sec. Also, in this division Opal Beck ran for Station Camp. She placed 95th among girls in 21 min. 7 sec.

— In the Girls 2-Mile Middle School Varsity Division, Michelle Smith ran unattached among 131 athletes. Smith beat the entire field by more than 30 seconds. She said, “It was fun running through the water!” She placed first overall in 13 min. 24 sec.

-Second place was Cassandra Rosencrants in 13 min. 52 sec.

-Third place was Lucy Ephrem in 14 min. 05 sec.
