Joselito Ventura Dies at 40

Joselito Ventura

Joselito Ventura, also known as “Jose” or “Nestin,” of Campo Rico died on Sunday, Nov. 12. He was 40 years old.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Ventura; grandparents: Maria E. Parrilla, Matilde Santiago-Ventura and Dolores Ventura; and brother, Tony Ventura.

He is survived by his mother, Maria Gittens; stepfather, Jeffery Gittens; adopted grandfather, Petrie Joseph Sr.; companion, Nahieda Rivera; daughters: D’Niella, D’NeyJah and D’Nyriah Ventura; adopted daughter, Dellitta Mapp; son, Jermiah Ventura; sisters: Nakesha Ventura-Burroughs, Erica, Marisela, Lisette and Ana Mireya Ventura and Irene Correa; and brothers: Luis Martinez, Randolph Lafond, Kemo Alleyne- Jackson, Edwin Estien Jr., and Neftalie, Carlos, Orlando and Luis Ernesto Ventura.

He is also survived by nieces: K’Osha and Jah’Kyra Martinez, Jahzara and Jahzell Lafond, Mahail Jah and K’Nawa Estien, Akeelah and Amirah Rosa; nephews: D’Mani Burroughs, Jahzii Lafond, Jahmoy and Jibri Martinez, Elijah and JaSean Ventura, Eusebio and Amir Rosa; and aunts: Celestina Parrilla, Juanita Crystal Williams, Miriam Schuster, Nelly Munoz, Nilsa Solis, Michelle Lenhart James, Susan Joseph, Alicia George, Linda Parson and Berthalina Samuel.

Other survivors include uncles: Roberto and Enrique James, Petrie and John Joseph, Franklin Schuster, Juan Munoz, Joseph Watts Jr. and Kenny Gittens; brother-in-law, Deleno Burroughs; sister-in-law, Renee Coates; special friends: Tammisha Belardo, Corine Simmons, the Rivera family, the Santos family and the Ventura family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The family requests that those in attendance wear blue or a shade of blue.

The viewing will take place at 10 a.m. and the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, at James Memorial Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow.
