A group of former residents of St. Croix’s Walter I. M. Hodge Pavilion Community is planning a reunion in the summer of 2018 for people who lived there from 1972 to 1989. The group wants input from former residents of the community, which is also called Sofarelli.
“We aim to reach and invite each person who lived in the Walter I. M. Hodge Pavilion Community between 1972 and 1989 of the good ole’ days,” Vivian St. Juste wrote in an announcement of the first meeting of the planning committee.
“Honoring our elders and those who have passed on is of great importance as well, as we celebrate those who are still among us.,” she said.
The target dates for the reunion are June 30 through July 4. Leading up to that weekend, there will be multiple meetings to coordinate each day’s events, St. Juste said in her announcement. Starting it off will be a one-hour call-in meeting at 2:45 p.m. Sunday. Those who want to participate can call 1-641-715-3810 and enter the participant access code: 562446.
Those who are on St. Croix are invited to come and meet and “put our heads together” at the Frederiksted American Legion Hall at 4 p.m. Nov. 19, she said.
