Police Arrest Suspect in Annaly Burglary

The V.I. Police Department on Tuesday arrested 19-year-old Carl Shaquille Cornelius after he turned himself in at the Wilbur Francis Command in Frederiksted. He is charged with taking part in a home burglary in May.

Police accuse Cornelius, along with Hubert Willis Lee Jr. and Link Baltimore Jr., of forcing the glass sliding door of a home in Annaly, Frederiksted, and robbing it. According to police the three took several items from the home and left in s pickup truck belonging to the owners of the residence.

Lee and Baltimore were arrested in June and charged in the east-end carjack/rape case. Charges in the burglary were added in August. (See “Related Links,” below.)

Cornelius was arrested Tuesday and charged with third-degree burglary. He was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending advice of rights hearing.
