Desmond Fitzroy Ryan, also known as “Des,” of Catherine’s Rest died on March 7. He was 72 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Phyllis Jones-Rivera Ryan; mother, Sarah Ryan; stepdaughters: Phylicia Rivera and Chanelle Rivera; sons, Edson Ryan; stepson, Kelvin Jones; sisters: Verlyn Miller and Carolyn Francis; nieces: Jemica Francis and Jaycee Francis; nephews: Cecil Darren Miller and Jamie Francis; great niece, Chloe Francis; great nephew, Camden Francis; aunts: Keturah Skelton and Ophelia Callendar; daughter-in-law, Lynette Ryan; and stepdaughter-in-law, Randi Jones.
He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Cecil Rudolph Miller (Antigua), Jude Justin Francis(N.Y.), Bennie Tatum(Va.), Jesse Jones Jr. (N.C.), Angelo Jones (N.C.) and Rodney Jones (N.C.); sister-in-law, Margaret Jones-Jackson; special friends: Harvel Samuel, Lucille Joseph, the Parker family, Burnett Matoo, Ellington Maynard and family, Herman Lynch Jr., Debbie Chinnery and Kelly; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 19, at Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
