Two Charged with Assault After Halloween Egging

Two Crucians were arrested Monday night and charged with third-degree assault after what appears to be a Halloween trick gone bad, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, 19-year-old Luis Carrion and 22-year-old Leroy Simon were arrested at 7:57 p.m. after they were allegedly found to be throwing eggs, some of which struck individuals who were attending the Halloween Block Party on Strand Street in Frederiksted Town.

Unable to post bail both Carrion and Simon were remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Facility, pending advice of rights hearing.

Acting Police Chief Winsbut McFarlande for St. Croix said police have "absolutely zero tolerance for this type of behavior. Citizens in this community should be able go out and have a safe enjoyable evening at all times."
