Man Found Dead in Estate Hogensberg

Police are investigating the circumstances under which a man was found dead Sunday morning in Estate Hogensberg.

According to VIPD Public Information Officer Glen DDratte, the cause of death has not yet been determined to be a homicide and the case is under "very active" investigation.

The deceased was identified as 36-year-old Romig Francis.

According to the police report, at 8:14 a.m. Sunday the the 911 call center received a report of a suspicious car parked in Estate Hogensberg. Officers arrived on the scene and found a black male, later identified as Francis, in the vehicle. He was unresponsive. Francis was pronounced dead on the scene and transported to the morgue by the morgue attendants.

The Criminal Investigations Bureau urged anyone with information on the incident to call 340-712-6092, or the Chief’s Office at 340-712 6004, the 911 call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers VI, at 1-800-222-8777.
