Mon Bijou Bin Site Reopens Tuesday

Site improvements at the Mon Bijou bin site continued Monday and the site was scheduled to open Tuesday, later than originally planned, according to WMA.

The new hours of operation for the site will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The changes at Mon Bijou represent the first in a series of planned bin site improvements, according to WMA. They are being made to try to curb illegal dumping and improve the looks and function of the site.

On St. Croix, the Concordia and Cotton Valley bin sites are next in line for improvements and new hours of operation. Anyone found illegally disposing of waste will be subject to fines and penalties.

WMA asked residents to report any illegally disposed items, such as scrap tires and other things not appropriate for the bin sites by calling the WMA hotline on St. Croix at 712-4999.
