Police officers on St. Croix Friday arrested 30-year-old Claudius George and charged him with a stabbing that took place earlier that day, the V.I. Police Department reported.
At approximately 1 p.m. officers were called to the Roy L. Schneider Medical Center where a man, transported there by a private vehicle, had been admitted to the emergency room seeking treatment for a stab wound.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim – whose name was not released by police – had been assaulted by George in the area of Anna’s Retreat. By 2:10 p.m., officers located George and arrested him.
George was charged with third-degree assault and disturbance of the peace. Bail for George was set at $25,000. Unable to post bail, George was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections.
