18-Year-Old’s Body Found in Estate Concordia

Police on St. Croix discovered Monday in Estate Concordia the body of a young man who had been shot to death, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old Tahjil Harrigan of the Harborview Apartments in Christiansted.

It was the third homicide on St. Croix since the start of the year, the ninth in the territory.

According to the police report, the 911 center received a call at 8:27 p.m. Sunday reporting that shots had been fired in the Concordia area of Frederiksted. Dispatchers told the units to examine the area surrounding the Alexander Henderson Elementary School, and the responding officers reported they did not find anything unusual.

At about 7:45 a.m. Monday, 911 dispatchers received a second call, reporting that there was a body in the back of Apartment 61, Section 3 of Concordia Villas.

Officers responded and found a young man with multiple gunshot wounds about the body, who appeared to be unresponsive.

Ambulance services were called to the scene and the EMTs checked the body and determined that there were no signs of life.
