James Alexander Collins Dies at 86

James Alexander Collins James Alexander Collins, also known as “Jimmy” or “Uncle Jimmy,” of Estate Whim/Herbert Grigg Home died on Aug. 6. He was 86 years old.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Amelia London Collins; father, David E. Collins; sister, Sarah Collins; brother, Joseph Collins; adopted daughter, Dale Petersen.
He is survived by his spouse, Corlina A.P. Collins; sister, Angelita Collins-Petrus; niece, Sarah Ross; nephews: James Petrus Jr., and Wayne, Warren, Richard and Dale Petrus; sisters-in-law: Thelma Springer, Muriel Stevens and Pastor Marion Miranda; brother-in-law: Alexander Petersen Sr.; numerous great-nieces and nephews; numerous great -nieces- and nephews-in-law; adopted grandchildren: Sharifa and Trevor Clarke; Keshawn Petersen; Reshawn and Shawn Henry; and godchildren: Deja and Ishmael Cenac, and James Fenton Jr.
He is also survived by special friends: Doris and Sharon Brown, Charles Vallarde, Maude Johnson and family, Alberta Russell and family, Ron and Mavis Bridges, Barbara Martinez, Janine Hector, Louise White, Helen and Bill St. Romain, Joyce Christian, Eugene “Genix” Thomas, Erma Williams, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church family, and other relatives and friends: the Petersen, Springer and Henry families, Herbert Grigg Home staff and family, Bromley Berkeley Post 133, Veteran Affairs family, DHS Division of Senior Citizen Affairs (Mrs. O’Reilly and Mr. Rodgers); as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, New Street, Frederiksted. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.

All arrangements are entrusted to James Memorial Funeral Home Inc.
