Police on St. Croix are seeking the identity of a body found Monday morning on East Scenic Road. The police do not consider the case a homicide, according to spokeswoman Melody Rames.
Rames said Tuesday that the person’s age and identity are unknown. She described the deceased as a black male adult wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes, with his hair in twists.
She asked that anyone who knows someone who has been missing one to three days who matches that description contact police to help identify the deceased.
Police were informed of the body’s discovery Monday morning. Details of how the body was found and what the circumstances and conditions were have not been released. Rames said the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, but the police do not have reason to believe it was a homicide.
