Tickets remain available for the 15th annual Julius E. Sprauve School Gala to be held May 5 at Caneel Bay Resort’s Turtle Bay Pavilion.
The theme is “Touching Children’s Lives as We Impact Their Future.”
The money raised at this event goes to help the school fund major projects. This year, the school plans to upgrade its barely-working 10-year-old intercom system and improve students’ interaction with technology.
School principal Dionne Wells said the school depends on the community’s help. “We just can’t do it alone,” she said.
The Gala begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. Dinner follows at 7 p.m. The evening also features student performances and dancing.
While in past years, various island “celebrities” have waited on tables, Wells said the school isn’t doing that this year.
Instead they’ve created a masquerade theme. Wells said that those attending should come wearing their usual “island fancy” attire but they’ll be given feathered masks to wear.
Tickets are $100 each and usually sell out. Call 776-6336 to buy tickets or for more information.
