Etla Parris Williams Dies at 84

Etla E. Williams
Etla Parris Williams, also known as Ms. "Etla" or "Grandma," of Estate Grove Place died on Aug. 18, at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital.
She is survived by her daughters: Valerie Williams-Greenidge and Carol Ann Williams; Austin Williams and Marlon Williams; Jennell Petersen, Jahmeel, Jaynae, Jaynesha, Jaynilah and Jahmoy Williams; great-grandchildren: Jahlequah and Jason Forde, J’Niequah Graham, Jahdeem and Kayden Williams, and Jahzir Petersen; daughters-in-law: Faye Martinez and Beverly Baptist; son-in-law, Raphael Greenidge; sisters: Miriam Parris, Vera Williams and Hyacinth Parris; brother, Stanley Parris; nieces: Maureen Guadalupe, Avilda Gregory, Ernestine Joseph, Yvette Parris and Phyllis Ross; and nephews: Russell Simmonds, Stacey Ambrose, Ronald Kiture, Roy Williams, Elton Joseph, Dale Parris and Dwight Parris.
She is also survived by special friends: Sylvia A. Archibald, Garette Forde, Gaynell Joseph, Alton Armstrong, James Bennerson, Montaque Roberts, Ronald Charles, Carolyn and JP Hill, Carole Scott, Ruth Lynch, Colleen Carter and family, Anselmo Jowasi Watts, Chucko, Dwayne "Mosic" Fergus and family; cousins and other relatives: Pastor John Briscoe, Leona Christian, Ancelina Pierrot, Adelbert Bryan and family, Glen Byron and family, Sharon Williams, Albert and Marie Schuster, Josephine Hector, Loomist Limbacker, Inez Williams and family, and Maurice Byron; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Those in attendence are asked not to wear black
The viewing will begin at 10 a.m. and the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, at the St. Luke A.M.E Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
