Minor to Be Tried as an Adult for 2010 Tutu Park Mall Killing

JahMari Industrious, 17, was bound over Thursday to face trial as an adult on first-degree murder charges in connection with the June 2010 shooting death of Joseph Ferrari, near Tutu Park Mall. In that incident, Industrious also is believed to have injured a second victim and is charged with first-degree assault.

Industrious was 16 at the time of the shooting. Following the shooting, he was charged with first-degree assault and held in custody as detectives continued their investigation and worked on upgrading his charge to first-degree murder.

On Wednesday their request was granted, and Industrious was bound over to face his criminal charges as an adult.

Industrious was arrested shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday on a warrant issued by V.I. Superior Court Judge Michael C. Dunston. His bail was set at $250,000, and he was remanded to the custody Bureau of Corrections.
