St. Croix Landmarks Society will present the second concert of the season as part of its World Music Under the Stars Summer Concert Series at Whim. This year, the St. Croix Landmarks Society presents its fourth season of family-friendly, outdoor concerts that explore the cultural music traditions of St. Croix’s Afro-Caribbean, Latin and American heritage.The Boyer Sisters are singers of American folk and blue grass music. Susan Boyer Haley plays guitar and dulcimer, and sings; Becky Boyer Hall plays violin, fiddle, guitar and banjo.
The Boyer Sisters are fourth generation, American folk musicians. Both sides of the family were musical, and their love for traditional music began in childhood. Natives of Missouri, Susan and Becky began performing with their family as children and grew up learning the Celtic music of their own roots, as well as immersing themselves in the traditional folk music of America. They present a vast array of tunes, ballads and songs that represent 100 years of their musical history.
Enjoy the flavor of themed food dishes prepared in Whim’s historic cookhouse; enjoy a cocktail from the St. Croix Landmark’s Café bar; and stroll through our Museum Store where you will find historic treats and treasures for all ages. On Saturday, Aug. 14, the gates will open at 6 p.m. and the performance will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to carpool as parking is limited for the number of people on the grounds.
