Five Teens Caught in Stolen Car

Marley SaundersOmar StevensOmar Stevens and Marley Saunders, both 18-year-old St. Thomas natives, were arrested Saturday and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle. Three minors, age 14 and 15, who were also in the stolen vehicle were arrested and later released into their parent’s custody.

According to the Virgin Islands Police Department, officers from the Zone A Command saw the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, at about 8 p.m. Saturday by officers from Zone A Command. It was being driven in Estate Savan with the suspects inside.

Bail for Stevens and Saunders was set at $35,000 each and they were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.

In other police news, St. Thomas police are investigating a first-degree robbery that occurred at a private residence in Estate Contant around 9:45 p.m. Saturday. Police said an unknown suspect held a gun on a homeowner, entered the home, assaulted the victim and took money and a cell phone before fleeing from the scene.
