Verona Euritta Henry Smith Dead at 70

Verona Euritta Henry Smith, also known as “Ronie,” of Anna’s Hope died on Nov.7, at her residence. She was 70 years old.
She is survived by her sons: Maurille Pierre Cartier Smith, Pierre Andre Cartier Smith and Jamile Halair Cartier Smith; grandchildren: Maurille Pierre Cartier Smith II, Je Vaugh Andre Smith, D’andre Austin Smith and Nathaneal Joaquin Novis Smith; daughters-in-law: Germaine M. and Carla Smith; sisters: Eileen Henry-Huggins, Alda Henry-Forte and Norma Henry-Jackson-Burke; and brothers: David Henry, Lloyd Henry, M.D., Irvin Henry Jr. and Keith Henry. She is alos survived by nieces: Monique Huggins, LaVerne Hurst, Carla Lewis, Carmen Patterson, Littitia Henry, Lisa Reeves, Monique Burke, LoriMae, Lizelle, Keanne and Kimberlee Henry and Kathy Smith; nephews: Orlando Huggins, Lloyd Henry, Irvin Henry III, Marcel and Dwane Forte, Maurice and Roy Jackson, Chris Smith and Henry Creque; great nieces: Je’Verne, Je’Rie Hurst, Rebekah, Tabitha and Hannah Lewis, Reina Patterson, Khadijah, Keilani and Kimaya Reeves. Other survivors include: great nephews: Brian and Brent Huggins, and Robert Patterson Jr.; aunt:, Alice Petersen; cousins: Cartier, Grubb, James, Petersen, Walcott, Brown, Bastian, Sarauw, Phaire, Hay, deChabert, Christian, Davis, Woodson, Harris, Finley, Christiansen, Jacobs and Monsanto; special friends: CHS Class 1957, Euna Todman, St. Croix Educational Complex, Barbara-Gene Browne, Earl and Jennifer, Esdaile and family, Lee Buddy, Maxwell and Deserie Blakney, Anna’s Hope, the Free Gut & Gallows Bay family; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to South Gate Camp Site of Christiansted Seventh-day Adventist Church, P.O. Box 1486, Christiansted, USVI 00821.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Christiansted Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will follow at Towers Cemetery in Tortola.
