Dear Source:
I'm not surprised boas were killed. Folks just don't like snakes. What's funny is that folks don't like a lot of things. Like a housing project in their neighborhood. They liked that less than the snakes. They used the snakes to tear down the housing project, calling it "temporary". Right at a time when a bunch of really bad off housing projects were demolished on the island.
Where did all those unwelcome people go? If you look carefully, you'll see the area that was the protected habitat for those poor, protected snakes is now a clearing. Gone are the trees and bushes especially imported from Florida at a cost of about $75,000 I believe. What folks do like are nice juicy federal contracts for sports arenas and the like, not snakes or housing for the less fortunate.
