March 20, 2009 — The general public is invited to attend the dedication ceremony of the newly completed recreational facilities at Estate Castle Burke Housing Development.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Commissioner St. Claire N. Williams of the Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation expressed admiration and satisfaction with the work completed, which includes construction of a community center with a laundromat and space for a small convenience store, installation of two playground parks and construction of a new basketball court with energy efficient lights.
"The development of this project was initiated by the Homeowners Association of Estate Castle Burke, who submitted an application for CDBG funds to construct a community center," Williams said. "Supplemental funds were provided by the Legislature, and we at the Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation are pleased that we were able to manage the completion of this project for the benefit and enjoyment of the residents of Estate Castle Burke."
