Brig. Gen. R. Rivera Promoted in Ceremony at Government House

March 5, 2009 – A promotion and pinning ceremony for Brigadier General Renaldo Rivera, adjutant general of the Virgin Islands, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 6, at Government House in the ballroom on St. Croix.
Brig. Gen. Rivera will be promoted to the rank of Major General (VI). He is the first V.I. appointee and National Guardsman to receive federal recognition and appointment to the rank of brigadier general.
As adjutant general of the V.I., Rivera holds several positions. He serves as adjutant general, executive director of the V.I. Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA), advisor for homeland security and director of the Emergency Management Council.
