Dear Source:
In response to Richard Brown's defense of Mr. Dejongh, simply because he wasn't the one who made the mess doesn't excuse the new Governor from his responsibility to do his job of cleaning it up. That's what he was elected to do.
What issue is immediately larger than the recall of 4 representatives? How much money does the Islands stand to lose… money desperately needed for those others issues that Mr. Brown illudes to: crime, poverty, education, infrastructure, etc. if 6905 is allowed to remain.
Until Mr. Dejongh steps forward and becomes part of the solution to this problem, he will remain a part of the problem. As long as he sits silently by and collects his share of the ill-gotten gains from this dispicable Act, then he is guilty of complicity and we should not make excuses for him.
Mr. Dejongh was hired to do a job… to lead the Government and represent the will of the people. If he is unwilling to do that job, then he should step down. Claiming 'he didn't make the mess' or 'he's waiting for someone else (the Feds) to act' is completely unacceptable.
There should be no middle ground here.
