Alert: Detour Wednesday in Williams Delight Area

Feb. 26, 2007 — Residents in the Williams Delight area should watch for a traffic detour Wednesday as workers install drainage culverts beneath Queen Mary Highway.
The work will take place between the Sunshine Mall and the Williams Delight stoplight, according to a news release from the Department of Public Works. The temporary detour will send traffic to the median road south of Queen Mary Highway until workers finish repaving the road, no later than Thursday.
Public Works has contracted the work with Tip Top Construction to improve problems with flooding and drainage. Acting Public Works Commissioner Robert L. Moorehead apologizes for the inconvenience, the news release said.
