National Park Service to Host Annual Folk-Life Festival

Feb. 23, 2007 – The 16th Annual Folk-life Festival will be held in commemoration of Black History Month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 27, and Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Annaberg Sugar Plantation ruins, according to a press release from the Virgin Islands National Park.
The theme this year is "A Cultural Diaspora," and the event will feature traditional music and dance. The Heritage Quadrille Dancers will perform; there will be an arts and crafts demonstration; and medicinal plants will be displayed. Light snacks and refreshments will be sold, and live entertainment will be provided by Smalls and the Music Makers. Admission is free.
