BANKERS GROUP HOLDS FINANCE INFORMATION DAY

Jan. 17, 2002 – The Virgin Islands Bankers Association is holding its first Community Information Day Saturday at malls on both St. Croix and St. Thomas.
Bankers will host booths from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sunny Isle Shopping Center on St. Croix and Tutu Park Mall on St. Thomas. Consumers can obtain free information about managing personal finances, home ownership and financing, and money matters for children and young people, as well as keepsake items.
"In January many people are facing bills from the holidays and also focusing on their financial plan for the coming year," said Tynnetta McIntosh, chairwoman of the association's Community Relations Committee, in a release from the association. "We think this is a good time to share information and be especially helpful to consumers."
All Virgin Islands banks are members of the Association and should be represented at Saturday's events. The banks are JP Morgan Chase, FirstBank of PuertoRico, Bank of Nova Scotia, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, Bank of St. Croix and Virgin Islands Community Bank.
