Inaugural Blue Dream Tramp Through the Streets of Christiansted

The streets were in aglow on Saturday night as the free Inaugural Blue Dream Tramp danced through the Christiansted town. In honor of diabetes awareness month, the V.I. Diabetes Center of Excellence, V.I. Department of Health, Division of Chronic Disease and the V.I. Department of Sports Parks and Recreation presented a fun way for the community to come out and exercise.

“Crucian Lights and Sparkle on Deh Streets” Mobile Lantern Motorcade Spreads Christmas Cheer on St. Croix

Presented by the Crucian Cultural Group, the 3rd Annual “Culture, Heritage & Tradition” Mobile Lantern Motorcade did not disappoint. The motorcade began in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions. It was so well received that it has continued to help the Christmas Season off to a wonderful start on St. Croix.

V.I. Seat Belt Compliance Takes a Downward Trend

Data generated through the V.I. Office of Highway Safety’s (VIOHS) annual Observational Seat Belt Use Survey indicate that Virgin Islands motorists and their front-seat passengers are failing to wear seat belts consistently.

Annmarie Todman, also known as “Destiny,” died on Nov. 18, at the age of 62.

In 2018, the Urban Land Institute surveyed Christiansted and recommended creating modern low-income housing, building a vibrant community and forming strong personal connections. The ULI released a report this Fall that suggests enhancing the town further by incorporating arts and culture into the town’s infrastructure and businesses.

It was St. Thomas Carnival in the 1970s when Christine Jowers danced down Main Street. She was proudly going down the road with the St. Thomas Arts Council Troupe. Her smile was as bright as the pink flowers nestled in her hair.

The Women’s Coalition of St. Croix held its annual meeting in their new community and conference center which is now named “The Women’s Coalition Campus.” The meeting allowed guests to meet staff, volunteers, and the board of directors and also allowed them to view the new building.
