Damaris Bermudez Dies at 53

Damaris Bermudez

Damaris Bermudez, also known as “Marie,” died on April 7. She was 53 years old.

She is survived by her companion, Miguel Nieves; sons: Randy D. Donato, Luis Rodriguez and Matthew Donato; grandchildren: Diomar Donato, Damaris Enith Rodriguez, Josiah Lieon, Aliah Rodriguez, Armani, Sara and Liz; sisters: Felicita Romero, Elba Bermudez Figueroa, Veronica Perz and Martha Acosta; adopted sisters: Gloria Middleton and Carmen Romero; and brothers: Daniel Felix and Ismael Velasquez.

She is also survived by nieces: Lydia Baptiste, Danielly Z. Felix and Yamiris Acosta; nephews: Carlos Gonzalez, Daniel O. Felix, Luis Gonzalez, Tomas Junior Acosta, Antonio Bermudez, Kemari Welsh and Kaiden Welsh; aunts: Elba IB Evelyn, Mary LeGrande and Maria Bermudez; uncles: Pedro LeGrande Jr., Benjamin LeGrande, Jose Abel LeGrande and Rogelio Bermudez; and daughter-in-law, Nicole Guzman.

Other survivors include brothers-in-law: Tomasin Acosta and David Perez; sisters-in-law: Glendaly Felix and Joyette Velasquez; special friends: Ynocencia Gonzalez, the Cotto-Rivera family, the Donato family, Linda Rivera, Juana and Edgar Huertas, Carmen Cruz, Elaine Sheppard, Benitez Family, James Boatswain, Tony Prensa, Mateo Donato, Garcia, Judy, Jessi, Freddie, Rosko, Diana, Rosalinda and Iris Christian; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.


The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, May 5, at Sunny Acres Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
