Richard Alexander Horsford, also known as "Ricky” or “Izimba," of Estate Sion Farm died on Sept. 17. He was 45 years old.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Horsford and sister, Diane Horsford.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy M. Horsford; father, Wilmot E. Horsford; sisters: Sandra Y. Horsford, Nicole S. Horsford; brother, Leander L. Horsford; nieces: Sherisma Thomas-Canton, Kenisha Thomas, Shanika Farrell, Akishma Horsford, Keisha Horsford and Ny’Kayla George; and nephews: David Morton, Ray and Raheem Thomas, Keith Horsford Jr., Malik and Shakeel Iles, Elijah, Emmanuel and K’mani George, Jayden, Payton, Gavin and Brandon Horsford.
He is also survived by great nieces: Shakia and Shakoya Canton, Yamarie Morton, Kristaszia Lynch and Ronaisha Thomas; great nephews: Shawn and Shakori Canton, Tahjari Lynch, David Jr. and Tequan Morton, Jasai and Kayden Miller; aunts: Delita Civil, Shirley O’Reilly, Iris Sarauw, Eleanor Telfor, Rhea Hodge, Bernice Richards, Eileen Crudup, Gloria Sealey, Virginia, Pauline, Zelma, Loma, Corine Horsford, Rosetta Stevens and Azzulla Horsford-Techeira; and uncles: Norris, Winston, Claude, Austin, Mario, Elroy, Darryl and Morris Moorehead, Warren D. Briscoe, M.D., Ulric Plaskett, Paul and Rosaldo Horsfor.
Other survivors include sister-in-law, Tamla Horsford; godparents: Shirley O’Reilly and Olaf Christiansen; godchildren: Rashida "Pudding" Horsford, Jerome "Hybs" Nathaniel and Renniqua Horsford; special friends: Ray Encarnacion, Eusebio "Junito" Christian Jr., Trish Williams, Carolyn Burke, Sherline Louis, Kaila Estien and Aretha Pedro; special cousins: Jamal Milligan, Nesha Horsford-Martinez, Sheron Fredericks and Roland "Kurt" Horsford; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention including the Acoy, Maranda and Willocks familie.
There will be a viewing held at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, at St. Peter’s Anglican Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemeter.
