While his alleged victim spent Tuesday pushing her Senate candidacy toward the finish line, Edward Richards, a 30-year-old St. Thomas resident, spent it being arrested in connection with a break-in at the campaign headquarters of Senate candidate Alma Francis-Heyliger.
Police on St. Thomas arrested Richards and charged him with third-degree burglary. Police said the suspect broke into the a political Francis-Heyliger’s campaign headquarters on Konprindsens Gade. Oct. 30 and removed several items.
He was was seen on surveillance video committing the crime, police said. Richards was arrested at about 6 p.m. Tuesday and placed on a $25,000 bail. He was remanded into the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
