St. George Village Botanical Garden will host their annual Christmas Gala: “All That Glitters!”at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4.Enjoy cocktails and sumptuous hors d’oeuvres in an upscale club atmosphere. There will be a silent auction as well as a live auction with many wonderful items in addition to delightfully decorated Christmas trees and wreaths. St. George Village Botanical Garden invites everyone to its “Christmas Is Spoken Here” to be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6. The family festival offers a time to buy gifts from the scores of craft vendors, or take advantage of the sales in the nursery and the Museum Store. Everyone knows that frankincense and myrrh are significant in holiday stories, but do they know that they come from plants? There are many plants with histories and stories tied to the holiday season. Come relax in the garden as Horticultural Director David M. Hamada discusses some of the plants associated with the Christmas holidays, both locally and around the world. Cost is only $5 for members and $15 for non-members.
