Botanical Garden Presents Four Christmas Events

St. George Village Botanical Garden will host their annual Christmas Gala: “All That Glitters!”at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4.Enjoy cocktails and sumptuous hors d’oeuvres in an upscale club atmosphere. There will be a silent auction as well as a live auction with many wonderful items in addition to delightfully decorated Christmas trees and wreaths. Seating is limited, so call 692-2874 for more information or to reserve your spot. Tickets are $80.
St. George Village Botanical Garden invites everyone to its “Christmas Is Spoken Here” to be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6. The family festival offers a time to buy gifts from the scores of craft vendors, or take advantage of the sales in the nursery and the Museum Store. There will be food and drink vendors and choirs singing every hour on the hour. Don’t leave without visiting the kids craft corner and taking a photo with Santa. For more information, call 692-2874.
Come to the Museum Store at the St. George Village Botanical Garden for a Sip & Shop, a relaxing day of holiday shopping before the rush hits. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13, sip on wine and snack on appetizers while taking advantage of the special sales being offered. The Museum Store is located in the Bodine Visitors’ Center. St. George Village Botanical Garden will present “Grow and Learn: Holiday Horticulture” from 3-5 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 18, with presenter David M. Hamada. Everyone knows that frankincense and myrrh are significant in holiday stories, but do they know that they come from plants? There are many plants with histories and stories tied to the holiday season. Come relax in the garden as Horticultural Director David M. Hamada discusses some of the plants associated with the Christmas holidays, both locally and around the world. Cost is only $5 for members and $15 for non-members. Call the garden to reserve a spot at 692-2874.
