Historical Society Plans February Activity

Jan. 29, 2007 – The St. John Historical Society is sponsoring a trip to St. Thomas at 10:15 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 10. Catch the 9:15 a.m. ferry in Cruz Bay to Charlotte Amalie or meet the group at 10:15 at the Caribbean Genealogical Library. Once again the Society will venture across Pillsbury Sound to St. Thomas where it will join Susan Lugo for a brief visit to the library before heading out to explore the 'Old Danish Cemetery' in King's Quarter–the final resting place for many important individuals with interests on St. John (such as the owner of Annaberg, Gov. Hans H. Berg). A casual stroll through the Historic District to the waterfront will round out the event.
Please note that there is a $5 charge for entrance to the library and that ferry and taxi service fares will be the responsibility of individual participants. For more information, contact Bruce Schoonover at: 779-4974.
