St. Croix This Week, the island’s destination magazine and visitor resource for 55 years, has announced Nicole Canegata as its new advertising and content manager, effective Jan. 26, a press release announced.

A fifth-generation Crucian, Canegata brings both deep local roots and a global perspective to this vital leadership role. With more than 15 years of experience spanning business relations, creative strategy, project management, retail, and professional photography, she steps into the position uniquely positioned to steward the magazine’s editorial voice while strengthening relationships with the St. Croix business community, according to the press release.
Canegata is the founder of Nicole Canegata Photography. Her work has appeared in respected publications including Architectural Digest, Travel + Leisure, Vogue and The New York Times. Her background also includes executive-level research and editorial work supporting international organizations and communication initiatives. On St. Croix, her photography is widely seen in retail advertising, community and government campaigns, and fine art exhibitions, the press release stated.
In her role at St. Croix This Week, Canegata will oversee advertising partnerships, editorial content, production coordination, and community engagement — ensuring the magazine remains a trusted and engaging resource for visitors, residents, and local businesses alike, the release stated.
“Nicole represents exactly where St. Croix This Week is headed,” said Publisher Charlotte Atkins. “She understands this island at a generational level, and she brings the professionalism, creativity, and commitment to supporting local businesses needed to guide our magazine into its next chapter.”
Canegata is a graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Professional Photography from the renowned Brooks Institute of Photography. Beyond her professional credentials, she is deeply engaged in the arts, wellness and cultural life of St. Croix, reflecting the same layered richness that defines the island itself, the release stated.
“I am honored to join St. Croix This Week as the Advertising and Content Manager and am excited to help amplify the voices, artists and events that make our island so special. I look forward to supporting our local businesses and advertising partners, while contributing to the magazine’s continued growth and creative evolution.”
“As St. Croix This Week continues to showcase our island across print and digital platforms, Nicole’s leadership signals a renewed commitment to local storytelling, strong advertiser partnerships, and thoughtful growth — rooted in tradition, shaped by experience and open to possibility,” said Atkins.
