The Caribbean Community Theatre will close its 39th season with “And the Winner Is” written by Mitch Albom and directed by Denise Blanchette. The cast includes Michael Baker, Jordon Griffin, Paul Knipler, Kelly Pugh, Robin Seila and Kelvin Vidale.
There will be six performances over two weekends: Fridays and Saturdays, June 21-22 and June 28-29, at 8 p.m., as well as two Sunday matinees on June 23 and June 30 at 4 p.m.
The play tells the comic story of Tyler Johnes, a self-obsessed movie star who is finally nominated for an Oscar but then dies the night before the awards. Outraged at his bad luck and determined to know if he wins (even though he’s dead), he bargains with a heavenly gatekeeper to return to Earth for the big night. Along the way, he drags his agent, his acting rival, his bombshell girlfriend and his ex-wife into the journey, in a wildly twisting tale of Hollywood, the afterlife and how we are judged.
Tickets are $20 for adults, with discounts for seniors, students and CCT members. They can be purchased prior to each show (cash only) at the CCT box office, which opens 45 minutes before curtain. Advance tickets may be purchased online at Eventbrite.

This play is not recommended for children under age 13. Performances are held at the Caribbean Community Theatre at 18 Estate Orange Grove in Christiansted, St. Croix.
