ECU Arrests 32-year-old Man for Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card

Man arrested Friday without incident following an investigation by the Economic Crimes Unit, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Detectives from the ECU initiated an investigation into Justin Clarke Nov. 7, 2023 which revealed that on Oct. 23, 2023 Clarke knowingly took an individual’s credit card from a credit card machine and subsequently, made purchases totaling $220.33, according to the police report.

Clarke, 32, was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, obtaining money by false pretense, and petit larceny, the report stated. Bail was set at $5,500 and Clarke was released on an unsecured bond pending his advice of rights hearing Monday at the Virgin Islands Superior Court.
