Yvette Viola Boynes Dies at 68

It is with a heavy heart that we the family members announce the untimely passing of our beloved, Yvette V. Boynes of St. Thomas, who died Feb. 19 at the age of 68 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Allison and Felix Serrant; brother, Joseph Serrant; stepdaughter, Shanice Boynes; and niece, Kelysha Serrant.

She is survived by her husband, Anthon E. Boynes Jr.; daughter, Antonette Boynes; adopted sons: Rhys Rawlins and Lamaar Gregory; step-grandchildren: Shadiyah Boynes, Kefer Smith Jr., Mario and Pwedelle Charles; step-great-grandchildren: Princess Boynes, Empress Boynes, King De LaCruz, Yoheines De LaCruz and Majesty De LaCruz; sisters: Donna Serrant-Thomas, Hillary Serrant-Turnbull, Cheryl Serrant and Carline Serrant; and brothers: Vincent Serrant, Curtney Serrant and Calinston Serrant Sr.

She is also survived by nieces: Nicole Serrant, Tiffany Thomas, Chrina Serrant, Julysha Serrant, Robin Serrant, Danisha Donovan, Cecily Fahie-Tarver, Cherise Fahie and Cherile Fahie; and nephews: Tighree Thomas, Theious Thomas, Dariel Donovan, Cecil Fahie II, Camoui Fahie, Nathanel Serrant, Lamar Turnbull, Curtdell Serrant, Jamaurion Serrant, Jaurice Serrant, Juryel Serrant, Kuryel Serrant, Kelvin Serrant Jr., Calinston Serrant Jr., Caleem Serrant, Camari Serrant and Sean Connor Jr. Other survivors include the Serrant, Boynes, Mills, Rogers and Williams families; as well as cousins and friends too numerous to mention.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a viewing that will take place at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, followed by funeral service at 10 a.m. at Wesley Methodist Church. Cremation will follow.

Arrangements are under the care of Dan Hurley Funeral Home and Cremation Center of St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix and Tortola.
