June A. Joseph LaBorde died on Jan. 17 at the age of 89.

June A. Joseph LalBorde is preceded in death by her father, Cyril A. Joseph Sr.; mother, Adelita DeLagarde Joseph; sister, Lineth Sylvester; brothers: Richard, Courtney, Lawrence, Cyril Jr. and Edward “Tubby” Joseph; son, Maurice H. Gilpin Jr.; and grandson, Akil Gumbs Dalmida.

She is survived by her son, Curtis R. Gilpin Sr.; son-in-law: Kaddu Luyombya; daughters: Sandra A. Gilpin and Vivienne C. LaBorde Luyombya; brothers: Alexander Joseph, Carlisle “Andy” Joseph and Kurt Joseph; uncle, Excelman DeLagarde;

grandchildren: Sherrice Maria Gilpin Stephens, Devon C. Luis, Symone J. Rouse, Curtis R. Gilpin, Jr., Shanice Gilpin, Maurice Gilpin III, Cyierro Gilpin, Jhia Li Gilpin and Victoria Luyombya; grandson-in-law, Jamal Johnson; great-grandchildren: James Price, Jasmia Price, Jamiyah Johnson, Caelen Luis and Caison Gilpin; and numerous members of the Joseph China Man Clan family.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be given in June LaBorde’s memory towards the Moravian Multipurpose Education Complex. The donation can be given either during the offering at the funeral service or via PayPal to: NiskyMoravian@yahoo.com. Donations may also be mailed to P.O. Box 302387, St. Thomas, VI  00803.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the first viewing from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8, at Celestial Chapel of Dan Hurley Home for Funerals.

The second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 9, at Nisky Moravian Church. Interment will be cremation.
